Origin: Purple tea—also known as purple-bud tea—is an exceptionally rare variety. While fundamentally derived from the *Camellia sinensis* plant, it possesses a unique mechanism for interacting with sunlight, resulting in a purple hue on the buds, stems, or the entire plant. These tea plants are grown at altitudes exceeding 1,000 meters.

Instructions for use:

– Step 1: Place 5g of purple-bud tea into the teapot.

– Step 2: Pour in approximately 250ml of water heated to 85–90°C and let it steep for 2 minutes. This temperature range is ideal for purple-bud tea; temperatures that are too high or too low will compromise the flavor (if you do not have a timer, you can let boiling water cool for 2 minutes). Do not use water at 100°C, as it will scorch the tea and destroy its inherent flavor. When pouring, lift the kettle high and then lower it as the water flows into the teapot. Repeat this motion three times—a technique known as "the phoenix nods three times"—to ensure the tea leaves are evenly agitated. This action also symbolizes "three bows," representing courtesy and respect toward your guests.

– Step 3: Decant the tea into a serving pitcher (*tống*) and then into individual cups to enjoy. The tea can be re-steeped multiple times (approximately 4–5 infusions), with the second infusion generally considered the best. Note that you can adjust the steeping time according to your preference for strength—longer for a bolder flavor or shorter for a milder taste.
