According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, exports continued a strong upward trend, hitting a record US$54.23 billion in August alone, up 24.7% over the same period last year.
The processing and manufacturing sector remained the main driver of growth, generating US$324.5 billion, which accounted for 86.8% of total exports and represented a 24.4% increase year-on-year.
Notably, exports of computers, electronic products, and components topped US$100 billion for the first time within an eight-month period, standing at US$100.5 billion, up 50.2%, just over US$7 billion short of the total recorded for all of 2025.
Key export markets maintained solid growth. Shipments to the US surpassed early-year forecasts to reach an estimated US$123.5 billion in eight months, up 24.8%.
In August alone, exports to the US fetched US$18.85 billion, a 35.5% surge year-on-year and the highest monthly expansion since the start of the year.
With export turnover setting new monthly records for three consecutive months, the Import-Export Department affirmed that the double-digit growth target for 2026 is achievable.
