Data indicates that two-way trade exceeded US$70 billion during the January-July period. Vietnam’s imports from the RoK reached a record US$51.4 billion, a 52.4% increase year-on-year, nearly reaching the US$60.5 billion total registered for all of 2025.

Meanwhile, exports to the RoK grew 16.1% to US$19 billion. The import surge stems primarily from heavy purchasing of production inputs for export manufacturing. Computers, electronic products, and components accounted for the overwhelming share at US$36.75 billion, alongside machinery, equipment, petroleum products, and industrial materials.

Import expenditure for electronic components alone throughout the reviewed period came close to the US$37.9 billion full-year total recorded in 2025, attesting to strong demand from electronics manufacturers in Vietnam amid a steady inflow of global orders since early 2026.

Imports of electronic components are expected to maintain strong momentum through the remainder of the year. The Vietnam Electronic Industries Association projects the sector's export turnover to grow 15% to 20% in 2026, maintaining its position as a key driver of the national economy.
